We are all aware of all the famous curses in sports. The Curse of the Bambino, the Billy Penn curse in Philly, and my personal favorite the Madden cover curse. These curses although being prevalent at one time are iffy at best; but ill give you a curse that you can stand by, the curse of the Basedgod, Lil B.

The Lil B and Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder rivalry has been an entertaining one. Lil B has been on a rampage since 2011 when he first put his juju on Kevin Durant after KD proclaimed that the Basedgod was a “wack rapper”…

The Thunder went on to lose in the 2012 NBA Finals to the Heat which gave this curse some serious legs. The Thunder hadn’t been back to The Finals since then and KD himself has has some bad luck with injuries in the following years. Lil B even put out a music video for a track he affectionately titled “Fuck KD”…

To make matters worse KD’s teammate Russell Westbrook added his two cents stating that he’s never even heard of Lil B…this further angered the Basedgod…

So let’s fast forward to the 2016 Western Confrence Finals. The Thunder are up 3-1 in the series and the Basedgod lets everyone know that they can rest assured that the curse is still in full swing and the Warriors will still win the series…

At this point I feel like this curse thing is nonsensical, I’m not superstitious and to me these kinds of things are happy coincidences…that is until the Warriors come back to win the series. Maybe there is some validity to this.

But, today Lil B gave KD an out. With the New York Knicks recent acquisition of Derrick Rose, Phil Jackson has gone on record as saying that he is actively trying to acquire Kevin Durant through free agency. With that being said the Basedgod proclaimed that if KD signs with the Knicks the curse will be lifted…

I think this is a no-brainer. I say he signs, drops the curse and leads the Knicks to a championship. With KD in tow and Derrick Rose at 75% of what he once was combined with Carmelo and Porzingas the Knicks will automatically be the second best, if not best team in the eastern conference. Do the right thing Durant!
