My man Johnny is back at it again; but before I get to that I need to get something off of my chest.

Now, I was a huge fan of Manziel when he was coming out of college. He was, and probably still is a great athlete. He made the game exciting. I remember watching that game when he and Mike Evans went toe to toe with Alabama and ultimately handed them a loss. The Heisman trophy was well deserved. I could even care less about the scandal with him taking money for autographs.

I had high hopes for him coming into the league. But, I felt it in my gut that something was going to go wrong when he was drafted to Cleveland. I felt like if it did work out it was going to be magical. The undersized underdog in a league of giants, working his magic and proving the doubters wrong.

But I was let down…and it wasn’t the city of Cleveland’s fault.

I don’t have to give you the rundown. We all know all of the Johnny stories that have been in the news over the past two years. I feel as if the kid got too full of himself…he stopped caring. The problem could be his age, or the fact that he’s been well off his entire life, or maybe he was just never the person we thought he was. Point is, he messed up and continues to do so.

I do believe that everyone can redeem themselves. But it will only happen when he’s ready, because in life nothing happens until the time is right. Hopefully it’s not too late for Manziel and he doesn’t bury himself too deep figuratively…or literally.

As I hop off my soap box we can now get to the issue at hand.

As the next chapter in the Johnny Manziel saga unfolds, one of the lawyers on the team working his domestic abuse case, Bob Quinton, quits after inadvertently (or what I call purposely) sending a text to the Associated Press stating that he didn’t think Johnny could stay clean from drugs and alcohol.

Manziel’s father then speaks to ESPN and makes his personal concerns public, saying that his son is a “druggie” and that he hopes Manziel “doesn’t die before he comes to his senses”.

Seems as though Johnny doesn’t care that the media is wrist deep in his ass as they follow his every move and hang on his every word. So in typical Johnny fashion he takes to Instgram and posts pictures of himself in Cabo…rocking a Josh Gordon jersey of course. If I were Gordon I wouldn’t want to have anything to do with Manziel at this point. For people to think that Gordon is on the same path as Manziel isn’t a good look for Gordon, but I digress.

The best part of that is the “#hiDad” that he lovingly places in the comments section of the post.

Although the man could just be in Mexico relaxing and not putting a drink anywhere near his lips the media is going to flip this however they choose.

Johnny needs to lay low for a while and then work on cleaning up his image if he ever wants to play in the NFL again. As someone who used to be a fan and someone who loves a great redemption story I’m wishing Johnny the best…get your shit together bro.
